Delivering Resilience: Embedding a Resilience Building Module into First-Year Curriculum

Starting university is challenging. Students require resilience to face the inevitable challenges of life, yet many may not be equipped with strategies they need. In this research, we explored changes in following delivery a building module within core first-year course. Psychology students at University South Australia completed adapted Resilience Work Scale two separate time points and undertook module. Pre- post-scores were obtained for students’ (n = 205; n 100 respectively); overall components. On average, had good levels commencement, scores increased significantly across most components completion Additionally, who reported implementing experienced higher score increases than their peers did not. These findings hold important implications staff universities relation embedding programs into curriculum.
